Normalizing the Less Than Perfect

One Session at a Time.

As a performer, I’ve shared my story with people around the world.

As a coach & therapist, I’m here to help you make sense of yours.

I won’t promise you’ll “find happiness.” That would be like trying to sell you the keys to your own car. Check your pocket — I’m pretty sure you’ve already got everything you need.

All I promise is to be your teammate. So, if what you seek is a combination of empathy and strength, a nonjudgmental space, and a confidant who will not waver then I invite you to book a consultation below.

What I Work On (Therapy & Coaching)

Why were we taught algebra, but never taught how to have a healthy relationship, deal with grief, live with depression, love our bodies, or experience delightful sex?

Together, we can talk about anything from work stress to heartbreak to anxiety to compulsive porn use. Some other common challenges that I work with during coaching and therapy sessions are: Depression, Relationships, Challenges, Grief, “Men’s” Issues, Sexuality, Porn Literacy, Kink/Poly/Queer and Non-Traditional Relationships, Sexual Compulsion, Anxiety and Compulsive Behavior/Addiction.

Who I Work With (Therapy & Coaching)

I work with folks from a wide range of genders, sexualities, and backgrounds. Regardless of identity, all my clients share a deep desire to address their faulty patterns, clean out old wounds, and find profound levels of self-acceptance. They want the kind of self-love that goes way beyond the memes coming across their social media timelines.

I have special training to work within the LGBTQ+ and kink communities. I also work extensively with those in partnership — whether they are queer, straight, open, or traditional.

How I Work (Therapy & Coaching)

My therapy style is highly interactive, and I’ve been known to quote the Buddha, Freud, and Drake in the same session. I will make our sessions a calm and grounding place, but I will not let you off the hook. The work of treating anxiety, depression, and relationship issues can be challenging, but I’ll be there with you. I will combine emotionally focused, gestalt, IFS, narrative, and mindfulness-based therapy techniques to help you address faulty beliefs and longstanding BS.

People often ask how long the process will take. I don’t know. But we will check in frequently to make sure that you don’t just keep paying for therapy that you don’t need — eventually it’s important that you go out and enjoy your progress! Your seat will be kept warm if you want to come back for more therapy and coaching sessions in the future.

In Pennsylvania, I operate as a pre-licensed professional counselor working under supervision. Depending on your location, I may also be available for coaching or consulting.

Who I Am & Where I’ve Trained

I am a Jewish, queerious, kink-affirming artist who is proudly in recovery. I hold a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, and have spent several months traveling through India to deepen my practice of Tibetan meditation and Ashtanga yoga. I also have more than 15 years of training in how to not give up on myself. I bring all of that with me into the therapy space. What will you bring?

For those who are curious, I have completed formal study or retreat at the following institutions: Wesleyan University, The University of Michigan, The University of Pennsylvania, The JED Foundation/Moth Story Slam, Yoga Shanti, Suddha Ananda Yoga Shala, the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, Three Jewels Dharma Center, Tushita Meditation Centre, and the Center for Mindful Learning.

Accessibility & Community

Both of my offices sit on occupied Lenape land. The Philadelphia office is wheelchair accessible, but the Brooklyn office is not. Both offices provide gender neutral restrooms. I offer teletherapy sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform to anyone who cannot come in person.

Finally, while I attempt to make my sessions as safe a space as possible, no conversation really happens in a vacuum. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and have the right to author your own story. I believe all people are equally entitled to justice, and that respect and worthiness are inherent and intrinsic qualities of being human — they do not need to be earned. As part of my commitment to these values, I maintain an ongoing practice in anti-racist education through formal trainings once a year and peer supervision. I also assume that it is my responsibility to learn about and honor any sociocultural differences that may exist between us. I recognize that these commitments are imperfect beginnings, and I welcome feedback, questions, and conversations about these topics as well as anything else you see on this page.
